Cool thank you all soon much. How do i separate the cabins bulkhead from the hull side without damaging the hull? The bulkhead to the floor is already loose but the bulkhead side to the hull is holding strong

i like the multimaster type of tool to do this work with. slower than a grinder or saw but less mess and less of a chance to mess up. these range from OMG in price,Fein,to very cheap,Harborfreight, with several inbetween.

Mr.Harvel:

When we restored/refurbished our 1960 Glasspar G-3 Skiboat I also had to contend with white Imron paint that had been brushed over the nice looking original "Zolatone" paint
that Glasspar used on our boats. This was done by my stepbrother BEFORE the G-3 was left to me by my Dad.

We used air powered DA Sanders to take off that old white "Imron" paint and cut through the original "Zolatone" as well. We then primed the floor, and repainted with the original "Zolatone." You can look at the pictures to see the BEFORE and AFTER results.

That's what I thought you where going to say I was using some 60 grit sandpaper on a sander and I spent about an hour on a 12" x 12" square this is/going to take a while as the entire hull above and below the waterline and the inside are all done in this thick latex paint maybe I can heat it up a little with a hair dryer and peal it because its still plyable and that's what's gumming up my paper

I know what are you saying because that is exactly how I started too!
But, my good friend Pete (fabricator and boat builder/repair/restoration) got me on track with the DA sanders. On the G-3, I had to crawl way under that front deck and there was alot of dust etc. At Petes' recommendation, I got a "Tyvek" Suit from our boat shop along with a good respirator and some "Oakley" MX Goggles and things went pretty after that! ;) Using the coarse paper at first to get off the heavy stuff and then going to a finer sanding disc worked real well.
